The firm has its historical beginning on 1 July 1975 when Brian Edney and George Lawrence started, in Mosman NSW, the firm of Edney, Lawrence & Co. Brian retired on 30 June 1990 and since that time George has carried on as a sole practitioner. The practice still maintains a presence in Mosman: the Bowral office was established in October 1993.

The firm is conducted by George as the principal and he is joined by Stephen Lawrence as a consultant chartered accountant and by Rebecca Lawrence as an accountant and commerce graduate. They are supported by Jenny Haertsch as the office manager and Fran MacRae as the receptionist and secretarial support.
